30 Days of Things I Love: Day 4

Family is a big one for a lot of people and I love my family, which is scattered, spread out and sometimes hard for me to get my head around.

What I really love is the time I get to spend with them in the summer.

You see… we don’t see each other much. Well, I don’t see them that much. These days, visits for me break down to a few days in late June or early July at my sister Laura’s place by a lake in Tennessee.

It’s a nice place. She has beer.

It’s hard to explain why I don’t see everyone more. I don’t get away from West Virginia that much and get out to Susan’s place in Virginia or fly up to northern Michigan to see the almost Canadian wing of my family.

Just the same, I’m glad to see them when I can.
